About me

A data and financial journalist simplifying complex economic jargons through data story telling compelling visuals.

I hold an MSc. in International Banking and Finance from Durham University in England and an MBA in Finance from ICFAI Business School in India.

I also wrote a working paper titled “The role of credit rating agencies in the Eurozone Debt Crisis” for Global Credit Review and the University of Singapore.

I enjoy experimenting with new tools and formats, from GIS-based interactives to chart-driven storytelling, to help audiences better understand the numbers behind the news.

Reporting style and my background

My reporting spans public health, immigration policy, global finance and the economic forces shaping communities. I’m drawn to investigative stories behind the numbers-much of which connects back to my academic background and my deep curiosity for numbers. (yes I love stats!)

My interest in oil reporting, however, is personal. My father worked on oil rigs in the Gulf region, spending months away from home and he would bring back stories that shaped my early understanding of the oil and gas industry.

Today, my sister advocates for climate action, and our conversations often explore the environmental cost of those same energy systems. The dual perspective has pushed me to connect oil data to geopolitics & climate and not just markets.

Body of work

My bylines have appeared in Reuters, Yahoo Finance, The Independent and MSN Money.

Outside work:  I enjoy traveling, sketching and doing yoga. My current passion is studying nutritional science and how what we eat impact everything around and within us!

Since I grew up in multiple countries, I enjoy meeting people, exploring new cultures and trying out fresh flavors.
